The Fly Fishing Academy caters for a range of abilities from someone who has never been fishing before, to someone who has been out once or twice but wants to improve upon their casting technique or maybe wants to increase their catch rate, or learn a new style of fishing.
We can provide taster or "experience days", 1 day intensive courses, 2 day leisurely introduction and boat fishing on a one to one, or group basis.
Your instructor has a nationally recognised coaching qualification Game Angling qualification, the Game Angling Instructors Certificate ( GAIC ),the Level 2 Coaching Certificate in Angling ( L2CCA ) awarded through the Salmon and Trout Association, it is the modern equivalent of the STANIC qualification. Your instructor is a member of the professional body the Game Angling Instructors Association. This body ensures that your instructors teaching and technical ability is up to a high standard, has public liability insurance, a valid first aid certificate.
The primary aim of the tuition is to increase your technical ability and theoretical knowledge. Coaching is carried out in a supportive, rich and fun environment. We will adapt to your learning style, whether that is active, reflective, intuitive, use a wide range of coaching methods, hands on, practical exercises with verbal and visual resources. We will get you up to speed as quickly as possible but at a pace which is most comfortable for you.
Our approach is to equip you with the skills to be able to adapt to changing fishing conditions, and the confidence to approach an unfamiliar fishing venue methodically and improve your chances of success.
We teach you the whys and the what fors, in simple language, cutting through the mystique and tradition. Fly Fishing Academy uses a hands-on no nonsense approach, keeping the tuition simple as possible and focuses on what works for you. Whenever possible we will share with you the benefit of our experience and guide you around our familiar waters in the Midlands and East Anglia.
